Funding Mass Transit

With politicians still quarrelling in Springfield over how to fund mass transit, riders need to prepare for the CTA’s fall doomsday scenario. The spike in fares and elimination of trains and bus routes will leave many commuters with lighter wallets and the city streets jammed with even more air-polluting cars.Mass transit woes, higher gas prices, global warming – all that combined with increased momentum to use green technology and renewable sources of energy should leave Chicagoans considering more practical methods for getting around town.
