What do you do when you get out of prison? Who can you turn to for support?Looking for a job and an affordable home are not the only obstacles ex-offenders face as they re-enter their communities.Like any person transitioning into a new life, mental, emotional and spiritual support is just as important as finding work.
Rev. James Coleman understands the needs of ex-offenders. A former offender himself, he has found a way to improve the rehabilitation process.
Coleman is the State-wide coordinator for the Community Support Advisory Council. He works in the Sheridan Correctional Facility where he connects parolees and ex-offenders to support services.
On this episode of Community, Media & You, we talk with Rev. James Coleman and hear first hand how his work is helping ex-offenders, along with Deanne Benos and Charles Brady.
