Daniel Castro
Columbia College, Television Production

Daniel Castro grew up in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Houston focusing on Media Communication. He transferred his freshmen year to Columbia College Chicago to pursue Television Production.  Exploring an interest in cultural studies, his developing understanding of other societies and people galvanized his interest in documentarian work.

The Forgotten Mile is one of Daniel’s proudest achievements.  Composed of a mosaic of exploratory projects, The Forgotten Mile became a transmedia reflection of the homeless population living in the shadows of Michigan Avenue. After graduation, Daniel hopes to continue his interest in documentation work through Television and various forms of media.  He is currently interning at 20 West Productions  working on on such shows as My Strange Addiction, The Squeeze, and Doctors Behind Bars.
