Breathing life into hidden culture through language and voice: An interview with Yasmin Levy

Israeli born artist Yasmin Levy is someone who could not deviate from her destiny as an international star of world music, being the daughter of the late Isaac Levy. In her latest album Mano Suave, at times she commands her voice through soft tragic tales of love and tragedy to a full dynamic range that can be felt between spaces of her listeners–which she admits she learned through discovering flamenco. Listen in on the interview with Yasmin Levy.

Recorded Tuesday November 3, 2009 and broadcasted on WHPK 88.5 FM on November 10, 2009. Interview by Steve Franklin, Ethnic Media Project Director of Community Media Workshop.
