Soto’s school bill
Backed by the Grassroots Education Movement, State Rep. Cynthia Soto’s HB 363 is headed for a vote in the House today, according to PURE, which says “it looks good for passage.” The moratorium on school closing decisions made by CPS last month has been taken out, but the bill would still establish a legislative mandate for a school facilities master plan, a longstanding demand of advocates for neighborhood schools.
