AT&T’s grassroots
Mike Miner notes the support for AT&Ts controversial Channel 99 by the Ministerial Alliance Against the Digital Divide, which he calls “shadowy.” Indeed.
Here are some clues, though: The group pickets Comcast and supports legislation backed by AT&T. According to Sourcewatch, it’s also part of the “grassroots coalition” Hands Off the Internet (organized by Public Strategies Inc., a prominent astroturf operation) that opposes net neutrality, and that gets funding from AT&T. (Kind of like Bobby Rush.)
