Nonprofit communications coaching in Bloomington

Social media news and us nonprofits interview online journalist

Mid Central Community Action and Community Media Workshop present:

Social Media, the News and Us

8:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Dec. 10
Mid Central Community Action, 1301 W. Washington St.  Bloomington
Cost: $15. Register here.

With news and communications changing, how can nonprofits get their stories out through established news outlets, other media such as online or community and ethnic news, and our own media, from newsletters to Web sites to Facebook? There are a lot more options than there used to be, but no more time or other resources.

This session has three key features:

  1. Pragmatic overview of communications strategy for nonprofits and quick look at how it’s changed with increased online participation and shifts in the news business, presented by Community Media Workshop’s Gordon Mayer
  2. Conversation led by Pantagraph Editor Mark Pickering and Online Editor Jamahl Epsicokhan and local nonprofit communicators Vikki Baptiste of Mid Central Community Action and Pete Moore of The Baby Fold
  3. Opportunity to share with peers and experts your successes and struggles with nonprofit communications strategy in an online world.

This event will be practical and useful, designed for time-crunched and resource-hungry nonprofit staff and volunteer communicators!

Cost: $15. Register here.
